How to reach Rome

By flight

Rome is served by two airports, Leonardo da Vinci and Ciampino:

  • Leonardo da Vinci intercontinental airport is located at Fiumicino, approximately 30 Km from the centre of Rome. A train service between Leonardo da Vinci Airport and central Termini railway station leaves every 30 minutes (fare: 9,50 Euros). Taxis are also available (fare to central Rome: 40 Euros).
  • Rome Ciampino airport, available only for low-cost flights, is located on the Via Appia Nuova, 15 km from the centre of Rome. It is connected to central Rome by bus (fare: 8 Euros) and taxi (fare: approximately 40 Euros).

By train

Termini station is linked to every major city in Italy and Europe. Timetables.

By car

Rome can be easily reached through A1 motorway, stretching from the north to the south of Italy.
